Support Local Farmers
Though growing food in your own yard is best, there usually comes a time
when you need to shop. A great alternative is supporting local farmers.
I visit my local farmers market every weekend. There’s probably one or more
near you. Also, if you live in a more rural area, some farmers actually
have stands on their property.
Farmers markets gather local vendors with a variety of products in just one
place. You can pick up all the fruits and vegetables that you can’t grow in
your own garden. They’re also a great place to get new ideas of what to
plant next.
By purchasing from a local vendor, you’re also helping to cut down on the
energy of food trucks from far away to your local grocery store.
