Home Gardening

Using your yard and garden to grow fruits and vegetables saves the energy of transporting food via trucks across long distances. Instead, the only trip you have to take is a few feet out the back door.

Having a home garden also helps keep you healthy. Since you are the one planting and harvesting the fruits and vegetables, you know that they are organic and fresh. And before planting, you should look into what types of fruits and vegetables work best for your climate.

If you live in an apartment or canít start a garden in your own yard, check out your local community gardens. Thereís usually a place nearby where you can start your own little farm.
